Haunted Missouri...
50 States in 50 Haunted Days
Today’s haunted story takes place in the state of Missouri. Are you ready to travel?? Let’s go!
One of Missouri’s most disturbing non‑public hauntings took place in Union, Missouri, when single father Steven LaChance rented what he believed would be a fresh start for him and his children. What happened over the next two weeks became one of the state’s most infamous private haunting cases.

According to contemporary accounts, LaChance moved his family into a seemingly perfect home in 2001…but within days, the house revealed something far darker. Residents reported whispers, sudden freezing temperatures, slamming doors, and shadowy figures moving through the halls. (See frightfind.com.)
The most terrifying moment occurred in the basement, where LaChance described a presence so oppressive and malevolent that he ran upstairs in panic. Shortly afterward, he encountered what he later called a black shadow figure, an entity that marked the beginning of the violent haunting that eventually drove the family from the home in less than two weeks.
The force in the home was described as intelligent, reactive, and malicious, not a simple residual haunting. The family reported:
Heavy footsteps pacing the hallway
Doors slamming with no physical cause
Voices whispering their names
A dark figure watching from the corner of rooms
Overwhelming feelings of dread, fear, and imminent harm
This haunting became so severe that LaChance and his children fled the house permanently, leaving most of their possessions behind. He later wrote about the experience and recounted it in interviews, but the event itself began as…and remained…a haunting inside a private family home, not a public mansion or tourist site.
The case is still considered by many researchers to be one of Missouri’s most violent and credible private hauntings.

Tag me when you get to Michigan please and thank you. 😄
I'm surprised they haven't made a movie about this yet...
